The Trust Project is expanding in Brazil!

Every region in largest Latin American country now covered by the Trust Project (Em Português)

The global Trust Network is reaching more deeply into a critically important region, where rampant false information harms both democracy and trust in reliable news.

Three new sites in Brazil have earned the Trust Mark and joined our network of news organizations committed to transparency, impartiality and accuracy. The global Trust Network now extends extends to all five Brazilian geographic regions, including 6 states and the Federal District (Brasília).

We welcome:

GZH, the leading news site in the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul and the main digital news brand of the RBS Group;

Jornal do Commercio, the top news site in the state of Pernambuco and the flagship of the SCJC group;

Ponte Jornalismo, an investigative news site that covers public security and human rights, with a focus on voices marginalized due to class, race and gender.

With misinformation threatening their very lives and livelihoods, it is vital for the people of Brazil to have access to accurate, fair and honest news. We are proud to have so many Brazilian news vehicles join our work and step forward to make a strong commitment to transparency and public service.

Sites that earn the Trust Mark logo have made specific commitments and display on their pages the 8 Trust Indicators®, a global standard for news transparency and integrity. The 8 Trust Indicators help people easily distinguish impartial journalism from rumor and deception – especially critical today.

We extend our sincere gratitude to all our funders for their support: Craig Newmark Philanthropies, Democracy Fund and Google. Trust Project policies and the Trust Indicators are shaped and enforced independently from the project’s funding sources.

Damos as boas-vindas a:

GZH, site jornalísticolíder no Rio Grande do Sul e principal marca digital noticiosa do Grupo RBS;

Jornal do Commercio, principal site jornalístico em Pernambuco e carro chefe do grupo SCJC;

Craig Newmark Philanthropies, Democracy Fund e Google.
